Musings 4 (Vier).......

It was another quiet weekend for us. Saturday morning we went to a 'pasar tani' in town where we saw people especially Turkish memborong berkotak-kotak segala macam fresh produce...peaches, nectarines, anggur, paprika.... memang murah! Sekotak besar grapes like 8 huge bunches in one crate only cost us 3 Euro...tembikai besar gajah...only 1 Euro....jenuh nak mengabihkan those 2 that hubby dearest couldn't resist buying!

In fulfilling the invitation of a colleague of mine, Sunday we went to visit his family in Bad Fallingbostel, some 60 km from our house in Garbsen. Just to share, the word "Bad" in front of a German town denotes some kind of a healthy and curative source of natural resources specific to that town like spring water for example and for Bad Fallinbostel it is for its clean air. We got to enjoy the warm hospitality of a true blue German family, Ulrich and Rita Ahberg and their 2 out of 3 children. Germans usually strike me as cold and distant people but the warmth exuded by their welcoming efforts that day was enough to melt the snow had it been there. We arrived at their house around noon and what a grand house it is...with beautiful creeper plants covering the facade of the house and the garden....wowwwww...it took my breath away.....the type that I've been dreaming off...complete with summer blooms and grape vines at one part of the garden. We had a good lunch of cold fish, bread and vegetables which I thoroughly enjoyed especially accompanied by the sharing of jokes and family stories from both families. Syirah malu-malu, suara pun tak keluar bila orang tanya.... I think coz Phillip the second son of the Ahbergs is quite cute and charming...heh..heh...heh....their daughter Elizabeth is also very pretty....our Imrano pun sampai terkedu, diam jer tunduk-tunduk malu gitu....

After lunch we did quite a bit of walking in the park opposite their house and we were amazed at the wonders of nature right at their doorstep....a river meandering through the park with people boating or kayaking and ducks aplenty. Due to the good air quality, there is even a hospital there specially for people recuperating from heart and lung diseases where we were told many rich Arabs like to check themselves in after undergoing the operation at the hospital in Hannover. We were also treated to the best ice cream in Bad Fallingbostel as claimed by the Ahbergs during the walk.

The kids mengeluh jugak after some time as their idea of a good weekend is a trip to the shopping mall...but here it's back to nature which I think is a good environment to bring up kids. Hakeem keep on asking...how far is it Ma? Well, looking at how tired the kids are, we proceeded to a tour by car to the surrounding areas including to the village golf club which got hubby dearest all excited....maklum ler dah 2 bulan tak menebeh....geram jer dia nengok the green...green, grass of the course...menyeser tak bawak his golf set!

After pusing-pusing kampung, we went back to the Ahberg's for some cold refreshments and ended our visit with reciprocal invitation to our house sometime after bulan puasa.....maybe that's a good time to cook and let them sample some Malaysia hospitality pulak.

That's all for now, do enjoy the pics. Till next time....tschus!
