Ice-Skating On The Pond !

Want to know how cold it is here, just look at the 1.5L mineral water which has totally frozen. The mineral water was left in the open outside the Masjid's shop.

Went to one of the Asian shops in town and bought frozen durian for $.50Euro for 4 ulas (durian siam) and Mama made bubur durian makan with pulut...yumm..yumm. Walaupun 4 ulas durian sahaja, itu sudah cukup membuatkan satu rumah bau durian....they did not call it King of Fruits for nothing..right....Kat Asian shop ni Mak/Bapak aje yang depa tak jual.....

Last Saturday Mama bought her new pair of ice-skating shoe in anticipation of ice-skating event at Lake Machee but until now we are still waiting for the announcement from DBKL. In the meantime, Mama practiced ice-skating kat pond belakang rumah and hasilnya.......

Last but not least, look at the banner below...yes...Scorpions is coming home to Hannover on 1 Jun 2010 and Mama/Abah dah plan nak tengok konset Scorpions..back to memory lane. Just found out that Scorpions ni rupanya Hannoverians.

Frozen Lake & Our first Roast Duck German style...lecker..lecker

The lake is about 90% frozen...Tengok itik2 tu geram aje....

Had our first roast duck German style courtesy of blogger fren MIL's recipe...no, it was not the duck from the lake depan rumah, OK. Finally, we managed to locate Halal duck in the Supermark, thanks to Mama's bloger fren (http://mamakandmami.blogspot.com) . We finished the whole duck in just one seating last nite, habis tinggal tulang-belulang. The duck is quite expensive though, cost abt 9 Euro sekor.

It as been snowing almost the whole weekend and we did not go anywhere, so Mama baked the Cheesecake and make roast chicken (cud not find halal Ayam Belanda)....

The kids clearing the pavement each time lepas snow and pour some salt on the frozen snow. You can be sued if someone falls while walking along your pavement and we have to take insurance to cover for any damages. Being regimented Germans they are, it is interesting to see

all your neighbours clearing their pavement setiap kali lepas snow...
