Assalammualaikum ........
Another entry this week but since as we didn’t do anything much over the weekend, nothing much to share. We went to town on Saturday to get some stuff for Syirah in light of the commencement of the new school term next week (19/8) topped by our regular visit to our favourite Doner Kebab & Giovani's Eis joint for a late lunch.
The kids had their daily cycling session thereafter…Syirah has been bitten by the cycling bug…she’ll pester Imran and Hakeem to accompany her everyday. Since it’s her birthday on 12/8/09, I thot of buying her a brand new bike but she declines…. she’s now pestering Imran to give her his bike as her birthday present as she’s grown to love it…as the saying goes… “tempat yg jatuh lagi dikenang…inikan pulak basikal yang buat dia jatuh dan jatuh dan jatuh…”
That night Syirah helped me make curry puffs as suggested by my cousin Ija to bring to my colleague’s going away breakfast party at the office on Monday. So there I was “mengelim” those puffs sampai juling…Syirah gave up after a while coz it went “herot benyot” …..those went into our stomach at home….yang lain masuk freezer to goreng early Monday morning.

Next day was a lazy Sunday. Masak simple kurma telur and sayur, had lunch and off we went for a walk-about at the Maschsee Lake Festival which is a 3-week event held in August. Water sports demonstration and competition, street entertainment, open air theatrical and musical performance, craft and food stalls draw crowds young and old, as many as 250,000 from near and far on a single weekend. True to its words, jenuh memusing mencari parking as every little space was taken. This man-made lake, covering an area of around 70 hectares and 2.4km in length was said to be dug out by the unemployed between 1934 and 1936 as one of the earliest Nazi-led public works project. It is today, one of the Hannover’s favourite spots for boating, swimming and even skating in winter if the lake is frozen hard enough.
Hopefully next week we can go a little bit further to explore the Open Air Museum near Hamburg which will be our last weekend trip before Ramadan….an arduous feat of some 17 hours (4am to 9pm) of fasting daily as it’s now summer. InsyaAllah, we’ll have the will and strength to complete it.

OMG Kakyong baru teringat that you are going to puasa masa summer! But the weather a bit cooler there kut kan, so no hal. The curry puffs look gooooooooood. Bet your collegue loved them. What I do in case of guests dtg kan is to bukak a tin of sardine and chop celery, onions and potato and masak sumer for the inti. I always put celery in my karipap, it's the only way the kids eat sayur. And its gives the crunch. Tak payah mince chicken or meat, senang krojer. Kakyoong, you should have bwk tempat buat karipap tu la. Nanti Apit gi sana pesan l, senang sikit and cepat.
